Albrecht Altdorfer (c.1480–1538) is one of the painters of the “Donauschool”. He created the first landscape paintings without figures. He was also an architect in the city of Regensburg {see planet (927)} and a member of the municipality. In addition to his paintings, many of his copper engravings and etchings have been preserved.
