1980 LE. Discovered 1980 June 14 by E. Bowell at Anderson Mesa.
Named in memory of Philip E. Angerhofer (1950–1986), astronomer at the U.S. Naval Observatory, Washington. He was involved in using the National Radio Astronomy Observatory connected-element interferometer at Green Bank for the determination of Earth-oriented parameters. His other research interests included supernova remnants such as CTB 80 and Cas A. Angerhofer’s caring attitude toward his colleagues and family are greatly missed. (M 10848)
