Named in memory of Hermann Lambrecht (1908–1983), professor at the University of Jena and director of the University Observatory from 1948 to 1968. An authority on the physics and chemistry of interstellar gas and dust particles, he worked on a wide number of astronomical topics and was also well known as a popularizer of astronomy. (M 9080)
