Definitions

Agenda 21: This agenda is nonbinding goals with regard to the environment. These points were agreed at the 1992 Earth Summit, which was held in Rio De Janeiro.

MDG 7: Millennium development goal number 7 focusing on the sustainable environment.

Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP): This is the approach towards our consumption and production habits. This approach is based on the idea that we should be careful in both production and consumption. This intent requires a carefully planned approach to minimize resource use at the time of production and to maximize satisfaction at the time of consumption. We have to create a new pattern of production and consumption to minimize adverse impacts on our environment. It is assumed that consumption by mankind will triple by 2050, which will cause more adverse impacts on the environment. Therefore, we have to educate people in minimizing their consumption and in waste management, re-use of resources, and renovation.
