Clinical Features
Incidence
ACC is a rare tumor, but its real incidence is difficult to assess, as most of our knowledge is based on single case reports or small series. It was first described by Roncaroli et al. (1996), and then better delineated by Damiani et al. (2000). Since then less than 50 cases have been described in the English literature (Foschini et al. 2017).
Age
ACC usually affects adults, aged from 20 to 80 years (mean 50).
Sex
ACC usually occurs in female patients. One case has been described in a male patient (Shimao et al. 1998) and one case has been reported in BRCA1 mutated patient (Ripamonti et al. 2013).
