Abstract
Many films about Beijing present unique features of the city: its arts, culture, lifestyles, architecture, and people. In its unique urban space defined by palaces, siheyuans, hutongs, walls, and gates, people speak a dialect, enjoy arts, engage in trades, and cultivate their own lifestyles. They become Beijingers with unique character traits. Many films trace its space, follow its people, and speak its dialect.
