Membership
National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN) consists of members from a variety of professional backgrounds, including scientist-practitioners, clinicians, and researchers in the field of neuropsychology. Current membership totals over 3300 active members, with representation by 24 countries. There are eight classes of membership: fellow, professional, associate, affiliate, postdoctoral/resident, student, special category, and emeritus (active and inactive). Additionally, professional members in good standing can apply for fellow status. In order to achieve fellow status, professional members must be in good standing with the organization for a minimum of 5 years, have 10 years of postdoctoral experience in clinical neuropsychology, and have contributed significantly to the field of clinical neuropsychology through distinguished practice, teaching, research, or public service. The application process occurs once a year.
