Mony (Maïmonid) Elkaïm
Introduction
Mony Elkaïm is one of the most important psychotherapists to have contributed to the development of family therapy in Europe, and beyond. He is a neuropsychiatrist, Director of the Institute for Family and Human Systems Studies (Brussels) and Honorary Professor at the Free University of Brussels. He is a consultant and medical doctor of the consultation for couples and families at the Department of Psychiatry of the Erasmus University Hospital in Brussels.
He is the Founder of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA), which he presided 11 years, from 1990 until 2001. Since 2001, he is the chairperson of the association’s Chamber of Training Institutes (EFTA-TIC).
He was the President of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) from 2007 to 2009, being Honorary President of this association.
