Sally St. George (1952-)

Introduction

Sally St. George has been an important contributor to contemporary family therapy, social work, qualitative research, and social change. She is a Professor in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary, where she serves as the Graduate Program Director and Director of the Master of Social Work Clinical Specialization.

Career

Sally began her career as a junior high school teacher and a school counselor and was advised to study MFT because of her systemic thinking and talking. She studied and received her PhD from Iowa State University, Ames, IA, USA, in Human Development and Family Studies (Specialization: Marriage and Family Therapy) in 1994.

Sally has taught Counseling and Couple and Family Therapy at Montana State University, Lindsey Wilson College, and the University of Louisville before moving to Canada in 2007.
