Introduction

David P. Kniskern is a well-known researcher and psychologist. He has also influenced the field of marriage and family therapy (MFT) through work focusing on the future directions of the field of marriage and family therapy, behavioral couples’ therapy, outcome research, as well as education and training for MFTs. He has written and researched widely in the field of marriage and family therapy. He has also participated on editorial boards for various journals and was a consultant to Southern Ohio Family Institute.

Career

David P. Kniskern received his Psy.D. from the University of Illinois. He also completed at the University of Wisconsin both a predoctoral position and postdoctoral position in the Department of Psychiatry. Later, he became a faculty member of the University of Cincinnati, where he stayed until becoming an associate professor in the College of Medicine.
