Abstract
This chapter presents an overview of Nepalese higher education and envisions an integrated system that mirrors the framework and mission of US style community colleges. It also highlights a policy discussion with higher education leaders from Nepal regarding the creation of alternative models of higher education that can be based on existing community-based colleges. The discussion illustrates how the rapid expansions in higher education in Nepal is demanding the creation of new policies and the possibility of even creating a new system that can accommodate the increasing number of students wanting access to higher education every year.
