Crisp Definitions of the Key Title Words
Organizational commitment means “the willingness of social actors to invest energy and loyalty in social systems, the attachment of personality systems to social relations which are seen as self-expressive” (Kanter 1868, p. 499).
Affective commitment refers to an employee’s emotional attachment to, integration with, and involvement with his/her organization (Bryant et al. 2007).
Continuance commitment refers to an employee’s perceived costs of leaving his/her organization (Bryant et al. 2007).
Normative commitment reflects an employee’s moral obligation to stay in his/her organization (Bryant et al. 2007).
