Definition

“Development administration” is the administration of policies, programs, and projects that contribute to the development of a nation. Development administration has a broader impact than public administration since it is suggested that this kind of administration has significant sociopolitical and socioeconomic impact on the countries involved.

Public administration as a concept is not new, and some suggest the term “administration” predates back to the earliest forms of civilization. Farazmand (1996), for example, suggests that it is old as civilization itself.
