Abstract

Endoscopic third ventriculostomy has become an essential modality to learn for every physician who’s involved in the management of CSF disorders. A detailed description is given of this treatment modality, starting from its historical background and continuing with modern neuroimaging sequences, new tools and the extensive review of the publications on results in different hydrocephalus etiologies. Technical pitfalls coming from the now over 30 years of its modern era use complete the chapter, leading the reader to better understand correct indications and how to avoid possible related complications.
