Rebecca Schlegel

is a faculty member at Texas A&M University. She is a social-personality psychologist who conducts research on the influence of self and identity on psychological functioning.

Early Life and Educational Background

Schlegel was born on March 27, 1982 in Wichita, Kansas. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Kansas State University in 2004 and her Ph.D. in social-personality psychology from the University of Missouri in 2009 under the direction of Ann Bettencourt and Jamie Arndt.

Professional Career

Schlegel has been a faculty member at Texas A&M University since 2009. She has authored more than 30 publications during her career which have appeared in outlets such as Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Personality and Social Psychology Review, Social Psychology and Personality Science, and Journal of Personality.
