Introduction

Kyle, 16 years old, and Sasha, 17 years old, have been dating for 6 months. They have decided to become more intimate and are planning to have oral sex. Sasha remembers hearing about using male condoms but doesn’t think they need to use anything if she were to receive oral sex.

A few weeks later, Sasha sees her doctor for a check-up. Her doctor asks about whether Sasha has had sex yet. Sasha says no, since she doesn’t think oral sex counts. Her doctor reviews types of birth control and encourages Sasha to make an appointment to discuss her options to avoid unintended pregnancy, before becoming sexually active.
