Definition
The goal of sex education is to reduce sexually transmitted infections (STI’s), HIV/AIDS, and unintended pregnancy among young people.
Introduction
The goal is to review research conducted on sex education in schools and to evaluate the goals of such programs from an evolutionary psychological perspective. This review aims to examine the effectiveness of sex education through a discussion of the environmental factors that influence adolescents’ sexual life trajectories. Furthermore, the review discusses implications of these trajectories and works to determine how best to align each strategy with individual adolescent behaviors.
