Introduction

Family Process is a peer-reviewed publication concerned with publishing cutting-edge research, theory, and clinical practice articles on the topics of couple and family therapy and family science since 1962. Founded at the beginning of the family therapy movement, Family Process dedicated itself early on to highlighting new directions in the field and helping bring attention to key concepts and achievements in the field of couple and family therapy.

Family Process has evolved with the field as a whole. In its early years, articles were dedicated to systemic theory and the impact of the family on individual functioning and psychiatric diagnosis. It also established its early connection to developing schools of family therapy and the concept of systems theory.
