PREP (Prevention and Relationship Education Program)
Introduction
PREP (the Prevention and Relationship Education Program) is a research-based relationship enhancement curriculum that provides education, skills, strategies, and knowledge to help couples build and maintain healthy, connected, and committed relationships. PREP was initially developed using a clinical science approach by Dr. Howard Markman (Markman et al. 1988) as a preventative (primary) intervention, designed to prevent relationship distress through the use of core communication and conflict management skills that help to build safety, connection, and intimacy in relationships. Current versions of PREP now help couples improve relationship quality and stability at all ages and stages.
