Rover Carriers Increased Science Return from Moon Exploration Missions

Lunar Roving Vehicle (Rover) carriers were used in the Apollo 15, 16, and 17 “J-Missions” to greatly extend the lunar surface area explorable by the Astronauts and to expand the lunar science that was accomplished on those missions. The Rovers, shown in Fig. 1, carried the Astronauts and their exploration communication and science equipment, tools, and regolith samples that were collected on the Moon.
