Abstract

The term Kabbalah commonly refers to a complex of mystical and esoteric doctrines in the Jewish tradition. However, Kabbalah is a multifaceted phenomenon and differs according to the tradition it refers to. Modern scholarship asserts the complexity of Kabbalah because it embraces many multiplicities of history and literature. Furthermore in the Renaissance, a Christian Kabbalah started to be shaped offering different ideological systems, among them also a magical-talismanic model.
