Abstract
Pierre Tartaret (d. 1522) was a philosopher and theologian active at the University of Paris during the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. His oeuvre primarily consists of commentaries on school authors (Aristotle, Peter Lombard, and Peter of Spain), whom he explained according to the doctrines of Duns Scotus or fourteenth-century nominalists such as John Buridan and Albert of Saxony. His commentaries on logic and natural philosophy, in particular, had a remarkable fortuna and were reprinted until well into the seventeenth century.
