Degenerative Spine: Spondylolysis

Abstract

Spondylolysisis is a defect in the pars interarticularis believed to be caused by repeated lumbar hyperextension and occurs most frequently in the lumbar spine with a predilection for adolescent athletes. This case illustrates the value of bone SPECT/CT in diagnosing spondylolysis in a young, high-level soccer player.
