Abstract

The spine consists of 24 separate vertebrae of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, the fused 5 vertebrae of the sacrum, and the 4 fused vertebrae of the coccyx. This chapter summarizes the appearance of skeletal spine anatomy on CT and illustrates the intricate relationship of the various spinal elements.
