Abstract
Legg-Calve-Perthes disease (LCP) is a necrosis of the proximal femoral epiphysis, with several studies demonstrating a vascular origin. Patients typically present with pain or a limp, with a peak presentation between 5 and 6 years. The prognosis of LCP is related to the extent of the initial necrosis and, if left untreated, can lead to delayed complications such as arthritis or severe osseous destruction. This chapter describes and illustrates the findings of LCP on bone SPECT/CT.
