Abstract
Total knee replacement (TKR) is the golden standard for advanced knee osteoarthritis (OA) with an arthroplasty survival rate up to 15 years in over 85% of patients. However, there is still a significant percentage of patients who are unhappy with the results and complain about pain, instability, or recurrent swelling. Within this chapter, four cases are presented which exemplify common causes for painful TKR and the typical radiological findings that can be noted in these patients. Special attention is given to the utility of SPECT/CT scans in painful TKR and preoperative planning for revision.
