Abstract
SPECT/CT techniques for imaging the hip and pelvis are discussed in this chapter. Dynamic and blood pool phase images of the pelvis and hips are often acquired, followed by delayed phase bone uptake imaging. Blood pool SPECT/CT imaging can be used to identify soft tissue pathology and accurately localize the site of hyperemia. The CT scan can be extended to include the knees and ankles to measure leg length and assess femoral and tibial torsion. Dedicated hybrid imaging fusion software is recommended to review SPECT/CT images. Suggested imaging protocols are provided in this chapter.
