Clinical Atlas of Bone SPECT/CT

Abstract

The knee remains one of the most important sites of sporting injuries, be it acute or chronic. This is particularly important in athletics, especially in any sporting endeavor that involves changes of direction at speed. In general, MRI dominates the landscape of diagnostic imaging, and there is predominantly a niche role for bone scintigraphy. This is particularly true of SPECT/CT imaging of the bone scan in assessment of bone bruising, osteochondral injury, and the early diagnosis of osteonecrosis.
