Abstract
Pseudoarthrosis of the spine is defined as the failure to produce solid bony fusion in the operated segment with continued motion and loading 1 year after surgery. This chapter describes the findings on bone SPECT/CT in a patient with persisting radiating pain to the legs 1 year after posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) of the L5–S1 segment. Careful correlation of the bone SPECT uptake with CT findings suspicious of pseudoarthrosis needs to be performed.
