Abstract
In interbody fusion surgery of the spine, fixation material is often used to stabilize the operated segment until bony fusion has occurred. Failure of the surgical hardware can cause inadequate stabilization and result in pseudoarthrosis. One such type of hardware complication is pedicle screw loosening. Bone SPECT/CT is a useful diagnostic imaging modality to detect pedicle screw loosening, and typical imaging findings are illustrated in this chapter.
