Abstract
The SAPHO syndrome (synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteitis) is a rare inflammatory disorder of uncertain etiology. It is associated with the typical pattern of increased tracer uptake on bone SPECT/CT in the sternoclavicular joints, costosternal junction of the first ribs, and sternum. The CT part of the SPECT/CT study can be very useful to assess the typical anatomic changes in the bones of the anterior chest wall or the pelvic girdle.
