Abstract
The use of doping substances in sport has a long history. One of the methods of combating unfair competition is testing the presence of those substances in athletes. For this purpose, appropriate measurement procedures are being developed, which allowed establishing a uniform, anti-doping system in sport. An important aspect of this system is the continuous development of new measurement procedures, allowing the detection of new substances and their metabolites. Such a system functions on a global level, and the Polish Anti-doping Laboratory cooperates on two aspects. On the one hand, it carries out tests in accordance with the requirements of commonly agreed procedures, thus ensuring the highest quality of results. On the other hand, it contributes significantly to the development of new procedures, thus supporting the entire anti-doping activities.
