Abstract

Baicalein is a 5,6,7-trihydroxy flavone that exhibits many pharmacological activities and is used in the treatment of many conditions such as inflammations, cancers, hepatic problems, diabetes, viral infections, ulcerative colitis, thrombosis, and neurological disorders. This chapter is designed to cover the research advances on resources, biosynthesis pathway and biotransformation, absorption, metabolism, excretion, molecular mechanism, and pharmacological action that have been performed on the baicalin activity.
