Abstract

Although far less common than hepatic metastases, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), other relatively rare hepatic lesions are infrequently encountered. These lesions are often not discussed and less likely to be considered in the differential diagnosis of hepatic masses found either in symptomatic patients or incidentally. Given the rarity of some lesions, arriving at a definitive diagnosis and management plan can be particularly challenging. In this chapter, we present an overview of epidemiology, pathogenesis, and prognosis of uncommon hepatic tumors derived from available literature.
