Description
Responsible Care® has been the global chemical sector performance initiative for the last 30 years and it is currently implemented by 62 chemical associations in nearly 70 countries around the world (ICCA 2018). It is a global chemical industry voluntary initiative.
The Responsible Care® program reflects also the industry’s effort to reach the WSSD 2020 goal established during the World Summit on sustainable development, held in Johannesburg in 2002, that “chemicals are used and produced in ways that lead to the minimization of significant adverse affects on human health and the environment” (Ganzleben et al. 2013).
Responsible Care program’s actions include also cooperation with UN environment, distributors, governments, and regulators, as well as accelerating progress towards the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs) (see “SDGs”) by 2030 in the area of health and wellness (UN 2019). Product...
