Introduction
The literature in corporate social responsibility (CSR) in several specific sectors is pretty much developed. The literature on medicine and CSR is scarce. The joined term medicine and CSR is vague since it could include:
- (a)
CSR programs of health-care organizations related to medicine
- (b)
CSR programs of health-care organizations not exclusively related to medicine like environmental programs
- (c)
CSR programs of any organization, that are related to health of employees and citizens in general
Thus, it is important to underline that by the term medicine and CSR, the first concept is described, in other words it is about the CSR policies of health-care organizations that are closely related with medicine, and possibly with their core activities.
