Corporate Community Involvement (CCI) refers to businesses’ involvement in societal initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of the communities in which they conduct their operations. It differs from philanthropic activities since it allows stakeholders to enter the company’s infrastructure, human resources, and business operations. CCI requires a significant commitment of both time and resources from the company towards community initiatives, distinguishing it from other types of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). While the latter may be motivated by the necessity to address the negative impacts of a company’s operations, CCIs are unique in their altruistic intent (Yekini et al. 2015).
