Homeopathy, Definition
Homeopathy is a philosophy of medicine that was originated in the 1790s by the German physician, Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann. His first published paper was in 1796, and was followed up with a textbook explaining his rationale in 1810 “The Organon of the Healing Art.” The principle of homeopathy is “like treats like” in which substances of a said ailment are thought to be isolated, purified, and then diluted. Each dilution must be shaken vigorously. The dilution is based on factors of 100, and is called the Hahnemann or “C” (centesimal) scale.
