The furrow ink test is useful in the determination of the dermoscopic patterns of acral lesions. The ink is seen as parallel green lines in the furrows. Thereby, the dermoscopic features illustrated in (a) are determined as the parallel ridge pattern of acral melanoma and those in (b) as the parallel furrow pattern of acral nevus (see the text in detail) (Fig. 14a was reproduced with permission from Saida and Koga 2013)
