Definition
CellML is a format for specifying mathematical models, focusing on the needs of systems biology, but applicable to a broader range of fields that use mathematical modeling. It focuses on models that are formulated as ordinary differential equation (ODE) systems and differential algebraic equation (DAE) systems. Please see the entry “CellML” for more details. (Note that the article mentions some of the tools that were available for working with CellML at the time it was written. Specifically, it mentions OpenCell and COR. Since then, these two projects have been merged into a single project called OpenCOR .)
