Schematic representation of CypB-mediated signaling. CypB overexpression inhibits hypoxia-induced apoptosis via ER stress-dependent signaling cascade. CypB, CHOP, and P300 protein interaction promotes the ubiquitination of CHOP protein. This process suppresses hypoxia-induced cell death. CypB also causes activation of transcription factor 6 (ATF6) in hypoxic conditions which in turn affects the expression of CypB (Figure modified from Jeong et al. 2014)
