Definition

Productive” is a  leafconcept of the “ FunctionalityType” concept of identification (generated from the  IDENTIFICATION Axiom) of  IMGT-ONTOLOGY, the global reference in  immunogenetics and  immunoinformatics (Giudicelli and Lefranc 1999; Lefranc et al. 2004, 2005, 2008; Duroux et al. 2008), built by IMGT®, the international ImMunoGeneTics information system® (http://www.imgt.org) ( IMGT® Information System). “Productive” identifies, whatever the molecule type ( MoleculeType), the functionality of  Molecule_EntityType leafconcepts in rearranged or partially-rearranged configuration ( Configuration Type), whose coding region has an open reading frame without stop codon, whose junction is in-frame (for immunoglobulin (IG) and T cell receptor (TR)) and for which there is no described defect in the initiation codon, splicing sites, and/or regulatory elements.

“Productive” is one of the two leafconcepts (the other one being “ Unproductive”) that identify the functionality of “ Molecule_EntityType...
