Definition
PSISCORE is a decentralized, web-based system that facilitates qualitative assessment of molecular interaction data (Aranda et al. 2011). The user sends interaction data in a standardized PSI MI format (Proteomics Data Formats; Proteomics Standards Initiative; PSISCORE (Quality Scoring of Protein Interactions)) via dedicated clients to multiple confidence scoring servers, which assess the data quality based on different biological aspects of molecular interactions. The resulting confidence scores are integrated with the interaction data and returned to the user. The PSISCORE registry maintains a list of available confidence scoring servers. Since PSISCORE is an open system, free software to develop new servers and clients is available on the project website together with further information (http://psiscore.googlecode.com).
