n A process, wherein charged ink droplets are emitted from a nozzle and deflected vertically and horizontally by positively and negatively charged electrodes. The operation is analogous to electron beam tracing as in television tubes and, consequently, is extremely fast with speeds of over 1,200 words per minute easily attained.
