A kinesin-like protein on the surface of the oocyte chromosomes of Drosophila that stabilizes the chromosomes to stay on the prometaphase spindle. A similar protein, Xklp1, is found in Xenopus oocytes. kinesin, oocyte, spindle, nondisjunction; Clark IE et al 1997 Development 124:461.
