\-¦byü-tə-¦dī-¦ēn\ (1939) n. A synthetic rubber made from 1,3-butadiene (H2C=CH–CH=CH2). The cis type has superior abrasion resistance and resilience, while the trans type is similar to natural rubber (See image).
