n. (1) A method of removing flash, gate marks, and rough edges from plastics articles by means of grit-containing belts or wheels. The process is usually employed on large rigid or semi-rigid products with intricate surfaces that cannot be treated by tumbling or other more efficient methods of finishing. (2) To finish, dress, or decorate a surface using a material such as polishing grit.
