Definition

Acetabular protrusion is the intrapelvic displacement of the medial wall of the acetabulum (the large cup-shaped cavity in the hip in which the femoral head articulates) into the pelvic cavity, and may occur as a manifestation of severe rheumatoid arthritis or a number of other conditions.
