Gravity Geological Action in Landscape Formation

Reference work entry
DOI: https://doi.org/10.1007/978-981-13-2538-0_975

The Earth’s surface is affected by gravity, which helps to form various types of landforms, including gravity sliding and extension. Due to the force of gravity, weathered and crushed rocks on the slopes of mountains, valleys and coasts can be displaced and moved, forming gravitational collapses, landslides, rock fill, colluvium, debris flows and other landscapes.
