Global Positioning System; GPS
Satellite positioning technology is used to determine the coordinates and elevations of points on the Earth. GPS is a satellite navigation system that was developed by the United States. It can accurately determine the position of a given point and can be used for the navigation of ships, aircraft and cars. GPS is an important technical means for tourist researchers and tourists to obtain their relative position and perform route navigation. China has developed its own global positioning system, called the ‘Beidou’ positioning system (BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, BDS), which has been used extensively as an alternative to GPS.
